Brendan Rodgers addressed the media in his pre-match press conference prior to meeting Slavia Prague in the Europa League.

Slavia are currently leading in the Czech First League so aren’t to be underestimated. However, if the Foxes are on their game – this tie should end in the English teams favour, of course.

With the UEL Round of 32 game at Sinobo Stadium on Thursday approaching, the Leicester manager did his usual pre-match interview with sports journalists. And there was some interesting fitness information from the boss.

As most of you Blue Army folk will know, Wesley Fofana and Wes Morgan are unavailable at present; while James Justin is a long-term absentee.

Elsewhere, Ricardo Pereira will be given a rest: the gaffer cited his recent comeback from similar injury to Justin as a the reason for a break to due to a ‘bit of tightness’. Happily for the King Power club, Timothy Castagne is available once more; but Ayoze Perez is out of the Czech clash, as per lcfc.com.

Meanwhile, striker Harvey Barnes also spoke to the media in the session. Topics such as the attacker hopefully being selected for the England squad for Euro2021 were raised. Furthermore Barnes talked about how it was important for him to ‘up his numbers for the team’. Whilst also speaking of his future goals, excuse the pun.

Additionally, following the defeat of Liverpool in which the winger scored a decisive goal, Barnes claimed he ‘wasn’t surprised that he and his Foxes teammates were victorious. Liverpool Echo quotes the 23-year-old as saying:

"“This year we’ve been really good against the top teams, so it’s not something that we’re not used to. We knew it was going to be difficult, but it’s not a massive surprise to win. It’s something we’ve been doing this season.”– Harvey BarnesVia Liverpool Echo"
