Leicester City football squad will continue to take the knee ahead of their matches in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The misanthropic behavior faced by people of color, still on a regular basis, is a disgrace to the whole of mankind. The club captain Wes Morgan has come out in support; stating the importance and the significance of the gesture that serves as a constant reminder against the struggles of oppression and discrimination that the black community still faces.

Captains like Wes Morgan and Watford FC’s Troy Deeney have been very instrumental and vocal in bringing the footballing community together by showing compassion and solidarity amongst the diverse fanbases.

Since the football restart last year, the gesture has been widely received around the world and has connected a lot of the heterogeneous world to be united.

"“We’ll continue to take the knee, which is something that I feel passionate about, I think it’s a big, big gesture that we’re doing.”– Wes Morgan, via ESPN Player."

But recently, Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha has come out to say that he will not be willing to take the knee before games anymore as he feels the significance of the gesture has lost its meaning.

"“I feel like taking a knee is degrading, I think the meaning behind the whole thing is becoming something that we just do now. That’s not enough. I’m not going to take the knee.”– Wilfried Zaha, via FT Business of Football conference."

It seems like the footballing world has furcated opinions regarding the gesture. While some players strongly believe that the gesture serves a greater purpose of pleading for a change in society by constantly reminding the world of the horrors of racial profiling & police brutality. A few others are adamant about not seeing enough effectiveness of the movement altogether.

Several of the Premier League youngsters such as Marcus Rashford, Axel Tuanzebe, Anthony Martial, Reece James, Eddie Nketiah, and few others have recently been targeted and subjected to derogatory racial remarks on several social media platforms.
