Leicester City: Fans might not return to King Power Stadium in 2020/21
Leicester City fans will be delighted with this one, as Foxes of Leicester explains when supporters can hopefully return to the King Power Stadium.
It feels like a myth or one of those things people reminisce about in horror films or disaster movies: I remember when I was a lad and football stadiums were filled to the brim with supporters of all teams. ‘Really granddad?!’
Alas, happily, returning to stadia is now in the not-too-distant future. Maybe, just maybe, the stands could be alive again before 2021/22. This is because government restrictions now permit the reentry by Sunday May 24, which is the final day of Premier League proceedings for 2020/21.
Though a decision is yet to be made by English top-flight bosses over whether it is safe to allow clubs’ faithfuls to return. Below is a extract from Sky Sports on the matter:
"A final decision by the government can be made as late as May 10, when they will give notice on the next stage of their roadmap. The final games of the Premier League season take place on May 23 and Sky Sports News has been told the Premier League will further consult with clubs over whether fans should return this season."
Elsewhere in LCFC world, we learned that midfield maestro James Maddison has scored more goals from outside of the penalty area than any other, since joining Leicester and entering the Premier League in August 2018. 11 successful strikes from long-range showcases just how evolved of a player the playmaker is. Constant recognition from one’s international boss would be the next development, presumably.
Unfortunately the former-Norwich City man was substituted due to injury versus Aston Villa; Brendan Rodgers awaits further diagnosis. We should be privy to a prognosis on Maddison by Wednesday’s press conference, prior to the Europa League match versus Slavia Prague.
