Ricardo’s phone call to injured Leicester star Justin
It’s touching to hear that Leicester City defender Ricardo Pereira made a get well phone call to injured Foxes star James Justin.
Most Leicester fans expected a win against Arsenal in the Premier League, I think. And surely almost the entire Blue Army considered the Europa League tie versus Slavia Prague a foregone conclusion.
Alas, we all know what happened next – a disastrous exit from the UEL, followed by the Gunners dismissing the King Power side at home. Brendan Rodgers took the blame for the loss to the Czechs; while the boss suggested injuries and fatigue caused the defeat to the North London team.
Five goals conceded and one scored is actually quite worrying form for the Foxes. Especially with the amount of players who are unavailable at the moment. They include a couple of squad members and quite a few from the starting eleven.
Bond of Leicester City teammates
Meanwhile, Leicester must make the best of what they have at their disposal; there is, thankfully for the Foxes, a good and quite solid core of stars of the side remaining.
Ricardo Pereira is one of those admired elements on Filbert Way, and he proved what a great teammate he was recently when speaking about a phone conversation with sidelined fellow fullback James Justin:
"“I called him [Justin] the day he had the result of the scan,” Ricardo said. “I thought it was important to speak with him and give him some comfort about the situation.“I remember when I heard my news it was very difficult to take so I knew how he would have been feeling.“I told him that if he does things well, he will be back and playing at the same level he has been. We all wish him the very best.”– Ricardo PereiraVia Leicestershire Live"
Previously, Rodgers’ balancing of team affairs had been excellent. There is also no way any manager would have been able to deal with the plethora of problems the outfit was beset with. Rest assured that the club is in great hands and focus will now turn to ensuring Champions League qualification.
