Which positions will be strengthened by signings at Leicester City in this summer’s transfer window? FoL explains what to expect, with the appropriate reference.

A week or so ago, I suggested it is clear that the Foxes hierarchy failure to secure a very promising, or already performing, striker was an issue. Then Kelechi Iheanacho started doing a madness on the pitch, as they say, and I suppose I now have to eat my words.

To be fair, this upturn in consistent form has been a long time coming for the Nigerian – a likeable character on the roster, whom all fans would love to see succeed – and coincides with a constant run in the Leicester side.

However, in spite of Iheanacho’s recent impressive and encouraging form that could alter summer transfer plans for a new forward who’ll eventually supersede the currently stuttering Jamie Vardy, the necessity for extra central attacking midfielders was manifest and became paramount.

According to Leicestershire Live, the Foxes will go for ‘quality over quantity’ prior to 2021/22 beginning: don’t expect cash to be splashed recklessly. Additionally, the publication claims that a striker is on the wishlist, as well as a CAM. Irrespective of so many injuries this season, Brendan Rodgers confirmed next campaign’s squad will have 25 men again: three goalkeepers and 22 outfield players.

Sheffield United are Leicester’s upcoming EPL opponents, and they’ve conducted a forgettable season – to say the least! But Foxes of Leicester expects the Blades’ last realistic stand for survival to come against the east Midlands outfit.

Nevertheless, even with piling injuries, Rodgers should be able to devise another plan for victory. Though the manager will be without Cengiz Under, who has sustained a training ground injury; meanwhile Spanish attacker Ayoze Perez may return, along with Northern Irish centre-back Jonny Evans.
