Leicester’s stadium expansion size; interest in Under-21 international
Leicester City Football Club plan to expand their King Power Stadium capacity. The Foxes are also linked with an Under-21 international star.
At the moment supporters obviously can’t even attend matches in England, but the demand for extra seats at Leicester’s King Power Stadium has grown.
Yes, we know the old adage, ‘where were you when we were in League 1?!’, though it’s best the Blue Army move on and unify. All while enjoying these amazing times of inexplicably, literally realigning the big six – because it may not last forever.
Anyway, hopefully stability is maintained for another ten years – praise be to the Srivaddhanaprabha family. Meanwhile, the capacity is still due to be increased in spite of COVID-19. Evolution continues on Filbert Way.
Presently the ground holds 32,312, with the proposed expansion adding another 10,000 roughly. Therefore the new amount of spectators to be held in KPS should be approximately 42,000. That figure would make the stadium slightly bigger than Premier League rivals Chelsea’s and Everton’s respective stadia.
Leicester City transfers
Now we move on to transfer news, or a rumour, as Leeds United will apparently compete with Leicester this summer to sign Orkun Kokcu. He is a Turkish Under-21 international midfielder who plays for Feyenoord in the dutch top tier, Eredivisie.
Even a year or so ago, the Whites would not have been much competition for the Foxes with regards to targets the east Midlands side are committed to signing, yet now the Yorkshire team pose much more of an attractive threat in the market. Especially if Marcelo Bielsa remains at the helm in 2021/22.
According to HITC, who picked up a foreign press report, the 20-year-old was available for around £23 million but is now only valued at £10m. Apparently the player’s development stalling this season and the coronavirus pandemic are to blame for the decrease in price.
