Two Foxes players feature in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Month. Why have Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi been so good?

Iheanacho was always a cult hero on Filbert Way: some fans obviously ironically cheered him on, which isn’t particularly funny; I’m talking about a trier who can’t hide his feelings, endearingly wearing his emotions on his sleeve.

And that last point is why, as soon as the former Manchester City man stunningly showed what he can do on a regular basis, Iheanacho became a King Power king – a fan favourite. He was massively deserving of his Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month nominations from the division.

Now the striker, along with Nigerian team-mate Ndidi, have been honoured by a notable outlet involved in statistical appraisal.

WhoScored named the Nigeria duo – both have been on international duty for African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho during this past week – in their Team of the Month for March. Even though there were less fixtures, says the website, there was still plenty of action to assess the EPL stars from.

Leicester City defender on facing Sergio Aguero

Jonny Evans, a stalwart centre-half for the east Midlands team, was asked about soon-to-be ex-Man City forward Sergio Aguero while on duty with Northern Ireland. With a huge contest upcoming between the two outfits, Evans humorously did not want to be too complementary:

"“I might be playing against him in the next game so I don’t want to say too many nice things.“But he’s a fantastic player, he still is. His record over the years has been phenomenal…“He’s very difficult to play against and his goals record is incredible. He’s got fantastic movement, close control…when he finally leaves the Premier League I’ll be glad a little bit.”– Jonny EvansVia Sky Sports"
