Leicester City have received an important double injury boost before playing champions-elect Manchester City at King Power Stadium.

Thankfully international matches causing the Premier League to stop is coming to an end. First of all, let Foxes of Leicester say well done to the England team for winning all three World Cup qualifiers; but to prepare for some of the Leicester players to take your Euro2021 places, hopefully.

When Saturday finally comes – a Sean Bean reference that isn’t Game of Thrones and is football related, hooray – the east Midlands outfit meet Pep Guardiola’s highflying Man City.

Having not started as fast as usual, people believed a club other than Liverpool may win the 2020/21 EPL title – even Leicester – alas, that wasn’t the case. Unless the Citizens implode worse than any other side in the history of the English top-flight, to my knowledge.

However, as the Foxes dismantled Man City in the league clash at the Etihad earlier this season, Rodgers will be confident that he can devise a match plan to take at least one point from the division leaders.

Injury update for Leicester City

And the Northern Irishman in charge will be boosted by the return to action of a couple of his first team starters. James Maddison, who’s been sidelined due to a hip problem, is back in contention to feature in some capacity at the weekend.

Meanwhile Portuguese defender/wingman, Ricardo Pereira, has also made a recovery from his knock before the EPL hiatus. Both men are fit to be called upon; yet neither player is sure to begin the contest. Especially in Maddison’s case, as FoL views the situation, because of the recurring nature of the England man’s issue.

Rodgers gave the information to assembled media, which also included an update on Turkish wingman, Cengiz Under. Under is unavailable, and his return date is currently unknown.
