Leicester City linked with transfer move for Tammy Abraham
Leicester City have been linked with an interest and possible transfer move for Chelsea and England striker Tammy Abraham.
When this transfer source talks about a club – their fans listen! That’s right, Fabrizio Romano mentioned the Foxes earlier and that caused a veritable frenzy among #LCFC Twitter users.
Romano is a respected Italian sports journalist who specialises in the transfer market, often talking of previously unknown stories which are always accurate from my experience of following him.
Although I’m not sure whether he has a 100 per cent record. Irrespective of that, you can believe Foxes of Leicester when we say that this is news as opposed to speculation.
A realistic Leicester City target?
We are all aware that the east Midlands side intend on signing a centre-forward this summer. Manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed intentions, while also indicating that the incoming player will hopefully be a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy.
The Pensioners’ Abraham is a marquee attacker; well, he was until Thomas Tuchel took over at Stamford Bridge. On Saturday, the German decided to exclude the England international from his FA Cup final squad. Which, as Daily Mail reports, puts Abraham’s career at Chelsea in further doubt.
Meanwhile, Romano suggested that the King Power club are one of the teams who are monitoring Abraham’s situation ahead of maybe bidding during the off-season. Other strikers Leicester are linked with include Danny Ings of Southampton and Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard.
As FoL sees it, the 23-year-old is exactly the type of player and profile Leicester should target. If they make the Champions League in 2021/22 – they might even stand a chance of signing him! However, as previously stated, there are supposedly other outfits willing to sign Abraham, and who can blame them? He is one of the most talented, young English attackers aground.
