As Leicester City fans, we mourn the loss of European Football as we know it. This black day changes the whole landscape of the sport that we love so much.

In a disgraced fashion, greed has eclipsed passion. Last night our fans tasted the sweet victory of reaching the FA Cup finals for the first time since 1982. Soon after that, we stumbled upon the shocking news of “The Super League.”

The Super League affair

The idea of an elitist league was a dream that the self-proclaimed “Big Six” of the Premier League always fancied. Now that single idea has found other visionaries who are interested in the money-making aspect. They don’t care how their actions are detrimental to the sport or any other clubs that prioritize passion over capital.

The whole concept is of segregating the Rich clubs from the rest as they feel entitled standing on the platform that’s built on the backs of their club’s history and supporters. Ideally, we never thought that the return of the much speculated “Project Big Picture” was soon to be a reality.

The decisions are a direct slap to the faces of every football supporter in the world. The owners of the participating club made it very transparent that they are only here for the business aspect of the sport. It’s just a simple money-making investment for the Glazers, Abramovichs, and the Kroenkes.

With Florentino Pérez leading the charge, The Super League will result in massive transitional changes in the world of modern football. It is not a piece of good news for any of the other clubs. Without the big six, a lot of adversity will arise in an already suffering season under the global effects of the pandemic.
