Leicester City goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, lavished compliments towards the manager, Brendan Rodgers, after their spectacular win against Crystal Palace.

City won last night’s Premier League contest at the King Power Stadium with a scoreline of 2-1 over Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace. The Eagles found the net only after 12 minutes by a rapid counterattack orchestrated by City’s dispossession of the ball.

Rodgers’ men were behind. A much-needed halftime team talk aided the Foxes as the team felt revitalized coming into the second half. Soon in the 50th minute Timothy Castagne, assisted by Kelechi Iheanacho, found the perfect gap in the opposition box to drill a shot past the Palace keeper Guaita. Around the 80th-minute, Iheanacho scored a spectacular solo goal that put Leicester City up by 2-1 until the final whistle.

After this vital win, captain Kasper Schmeichel was full of praise for the manager. The Dane hailed Rodgers for being the perfect manager for the club.

"“It shows a club like Leicester can keep building, keep progressing and start mixing it at the top of the league. Brendan [Rodgers] has come in and done wonders for us – he’s the absolutely perfect manager for us at the perfect time. He came in when we needed an identity, we needed to find our feet – who were we after this amazing title win?” -Kasper Schmeichel on Brendan Rodgers via Daily Mail."

After the famous title-winning season, the club had derailed from glory until Rodgers managed to pull them back on track. The East Midland club now finds itself in a long-awaited FA Cup Final and is third on the Premier League table, followed by a gap of four points from Chelsea, who currently is in fourth.

"“We’ve kind of been in between a counter-attacking team and a possession team and we didn’t quite know exactly what we were and he’s just given us a clear identity, he’s been so clear in his messages of how we wants us to play. I can’t praise him enough for the job he’s done and is doing, and hopefully for many years to come.” – Schmeichel further added."

The 34-year old keeper expects the Northern Irishman to stay at this club, at least for a few more seasons. The gaffer looks content here at the club despite being highly sought by some top clubs in Europe. Next up for the Foxes is another EPL clash versus Southampton on Friday, April 30.
