Leicester’s £25m bid for man wanted by Man City, Juventus, Dortmund
A report has suggested that Leicester City have made a £25m bid for Robin Gosens. He is said to be wanted by Manchester City, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. While Chelsea fans and Man United fans are disappointed at the link to the Foxes.
Can Leicester really beat Atleti, Juve, Dortmund and the Citizens to any transfer target? Possibly, maybe. That scenario is certainly in the realm of possibility.
Sometimes it’s not a matter of the largest club attracting the signing, but which outfit is prepared to offer the correct amount to the player’s team. Not to mention shelling out for a lucrative contract.
And right now LCFC have battled their way to being a top-four Premier League side. Irrespective of whatever people consider the so-called ‘Big Six’. The King Power outfit achieved this by using skill, determination and excellent match planning. In addition a brilliant technician, in Brendan Rodgers, is at the helm. Prudent and careful recruitment has also enabled the Foxes’ rise to prominence.
Who is Robin Gosens and is he worthy of Leicester City’s attention?
Gosens is a Germany international, for a start, and that accolade is like a badge of honour in elite football. The Germans may have dropped off in the national scene – typically it was simultaneous to me writing an article naming them as perpetual World Cup favourites for Playing for 90 – yet they still produce fine athletes who ply their trade around Europe’s top-five divisions.
At the moment, Gosens represents Atalanta BC in the Italian Serie A. He is a forward-thinking left-back – similar to former team-mate Timothy Castagne, who joined Leicester from Atalanta – but can also play left-midfield or wingback.
Media in Italy reports that the east Midlanders have accelerated with a £25 million bid for Gosens; news is expected of the potential move within a fortnight, as per Sport Witness.
