Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has issued a rallying call to his players prior to their monumental match against Manchester United.

Well, anything is worth a shot following the disastrous display versus Newcastle United, which came directly after a poor result against 10-man Southampton. Rodgers was well and truly let down by the majority of his side: only Wesley Fofana, Kelechi Iheanacho and possibly Marc Albrighton were up to scratch from a bunch of off nights, really.

Nevertheless, Foxes of Leicester are collectively praying and hoping that the dismal last performance wasn’t the beginning of a Bournemouth 2.0 groundhog fortnight. Yet this run-in is a difficult as it pretty much could conceivably be. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur await after the trip north to face Man United on Tuesday evening; sandwiched in between those fixtures is an FA Cup final with the Pensioners, too!

And the Foxes are also likely to to be without their most experienced and arguably best performing centre-back, Jonny Evans. He joins thrilling fullback James Justin and leading Leicester wingman Harvey Barnes on the sidelines.

In order to attempt to boost his players mentally, and obviously in a physical sense, the Northern Irishman at the helm of the King Power outfit employed a typical tactic or manoeuvre: telling his men to fight for what FoL believes they have earned.

Rodgers stated this before the clash with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side:

"“It’s [managing is about] support, it’s getting around them, it’s being candid in where we can be better, and then we get into the next game.“Let’s fight now because everything is to play for still.”– Brendan Rodgers, via lcfc.com"
