Khun Vichai’s spirit will be with Leicester at FA Cup Final – Rodgers
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says late chairman Khun Vichai’s spirit will be at the FA Cup Final with the Foxes on the day.
Whether on-field Leicester captain Kasper Schmeichel lifts the FA Cup trophy or the Foxes squad receive runners-up medals, Brendan Rodgers’ team have made a fantastic effort which salutes their excellent Blue Army faithful just right.
In addition, this achievement is also a great nod to the unfathomable impact of Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the late LCFC chairman. A fifth appearance in the game – the first time for over 50 years – accompanying the Premier League title honours ‘The Boss’s’ legacy perfectly.
In fact, just to contradict myself, it it actually easy to suggest how incredible Khun Vichai’s ownership of the club was: Leicester would not be in the position, or possibly even the EPL in general, if the Thai hadn’t taken over on Filbert Way.
I’m sure you’re aware that Srivaddhanaprabha’s son, Aiyawatt, or Top, is now King Power chief and has continued managing LCFC in a wonderfully similar magnanimous style to his father.

Thankfully Khun Top will be at the match to cheer on his side, as his father would have surely wanted. Yet some Foxes fans will shed a tear because Khun Vichai won’t see the team in England’s most prestigious tournament. Hopefully the players can add another trophy to the memory of the latter’s original guidance of the contemporary outfit.
Prior to the competition’s decider, the Northern Irishman at the helm of LCFC was asked who he would like to ‘win the cup for?’. Happily, Rodgers said he wanted to do it for ‘The Boss’; additionally, the former said that Khun Vichai’s spirit will be with them on the day:
"“I’d love to win it for Khun Vichai and his family. His spirit will be there with us on the day. Having Top with us has magnified the why. One of the reasons I came was because of them and the cause the club has. I would love to do it for the supporters and the players, but if I had to pick one, I’d say Top and his family.”Via Leicester Mercury"
