There is talk that superpower clubs such as Manchester United and Barcelona are considering transfers for Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans. Yet he should stay with the Foxes as it is in the best interests of both parties.

This is an opinion piece by Foxes of Leicester; we shall look at information from legitimate sources along with some hearsay and supposition from social media such as Twitter. Obviously the King Power side’s staff, players and fans would love nothing more – apart from signing Kylian Mbappe, possibly – than retaining Tielemans’ services for at least one more campaign.

However, when apparent interest from teams such as Man United and Barca emerges, there is little chance of an outfit the size of LCFC keeping the star in question.

Nevertheless, the ownership are never bullied into selling by other clubs or the player who is the subject of a bid. But, as we saw with the infantile and ungrateful Riyad Mahrez – he’s changed his tune slightly since making silly comments – top talent and their ‘super agents’ do have a lot of influence over proceedings during open transfer markets.

The fact that Tielemans recently lauded LCFC as a place to work doesn’t really mean much to be honest; yes it is a positive sign, though you couldn’t really blame anyone for taking the chance to represent the Northern English giants, or the Spanish supremos – sorry Real Madrid. In addition, the Belgium international also praised the new training ground while reiterating how wonderful Leicester City is.
