Leicester City are making ground improvements as the King Power Stadium pitch is relaid. Meanwhile talks open with a prospective signing.

When the season finished with a whimper against Tottenham Hotspur, planning by Leicester went directly into motion; as you can see by the video below from Foxes head groundsman John Ledwidge’s Twitter account, the King Power turf was taken up and is to be laid again fresh.

Leicestershire Live explain further:

"Leicester City have quickly got to work on improving the King Power Stadium in the off-season, with a brand new pitch to be laid. For the first time since the stadium opened in 2002, the pitch is undergoing a full refurbishment."

Possible Leicester City transfer update

Foxes of Leicester’s second topic in this article is on the subject of transfers, specifically the increasing likelihood of Ryan Bertrand joining the Foxes from Southampton ‘on a free’.

I have said before that I think Bertrand could be a very decent addition for Leicester: he is a particularly fearless type, he is an international, and an elder of the last wave of attacking fullbacks who are now so important in top-flight football.

Sky Sports have now reported that the ex-England man’s representatives are in talks with Leicester. They also hint that LCFC haven’t decided on their favoured left-back as of yet, partly because they still admire Atalanta’s Robin Gosens. Gosens was a teammate of Timothy Castagne whilst the Belgian was with the Italian club.

Whether the 32-year-old will be afforded much playing time for the east Midlands team remains to be seen, naturally. Yet I believe some of the fan base may eventually be surprised at how the former Saint keeps other left-sided players out of the side during his potential tenure on Filbert Way.
