Leicester City are again linked with signing a young Portugal international. Could this summer be the time when Nuno Mendes finally joins the Foxes?

When people say Leicester still haven’t signed a suitable left-back since the rather forgettable Ben Chilwell joined Chelsea, they’d be right. Well, James Justin must be fitted into the Foxes team wherever he can – seriously, he became so good before his anterior cruciate ligament injury – but there isn’t a senior specialist left-sided defender/wingback at the club presently, bar 19-year-old Luke Thomas.

And whilst Thomas had an amazing and pretty unpredictable term, he possibly isn’t ready for the Europa League as well as a legitimate top four quest. So, Ryan Bertrand is expected to come in; maybe it’s not a confirmed deal, but at least his representatives are supposedly in contact with the LCFC transfer chiefs or hierarchy.

Some supporters aren’t bowled over with the former Saints man potentially being an incoming player alongside the more fancied Boubakary Soumare. Yet I have stated that Bertrand is a particularly shrewd free option for the King Power outfit.

Now Portuguese international starlet Nuno Mendes is again linked with a move to the FA Cup winners. There is more from Leicestershire Live on the supposed attention here. Obviously Mendes would be a brilliant acquisition, consequently FoL will keep our eyes and ears out for more information.

Final story which has an effect on Leicester City

Lastly for you Foxes fans, I’m sure you’ve probably heard the Premier League lineup for 2021/22 is complete. Brentford defeated Swansea in the Championship Playoff Final to gain entry into the English top-flight for the initial time in their history. Ivan Toney and Emiliano Marcondes bagged the crucial goals for the West Londoners.

FanSided would like to extend congratulations to the Bees; although, FoL hope LCFC can beat sides such as them at King Power Stadium in the next campaign. Additionally, just to annoy Brentford fans before we’ve even started the subsequent season – I wouldn’t mind Leicester buying Toney! In fact, the east Midlands team have been connected with an interest in the Englishman before.
