Leicester City currently have a great squad which is improving yearly. But will the Foxes sell a star player in this summer’s transfer market?

In the off-season as 2018/19 approached, Leicester finally allowed the super talented yet rather immature Riyad Mahrez to leave King Power Stadium for the chance at the regular big time with Pep Guardiola’s suppose ‘galacticos’ at Manchester City.

Mahrez is the most skilled LCFC player, certainly in my era, but he was disrespectful to the club and late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in the awful manner that he pursued his move. I’m glad the Algerian has now thanked the east Midlands outfit, because without them he would possibly still be in France’s second division.

As you can perhaps also tell, incidentally, I don’t have any sympathy for the Citizens’ loss to Chelsea in the Champions League final on Saturday: with a basically unlimited fund, the expert that Guardiola is has proven that money does not buy success automatically. Regardless of domestic prowess. He’s a top manager, but doesn’t deserve hero worship as of now – he’s essentially failed MCFC in Europe. Allowing Ben Chilwell to get a winners medal in the process – typical!

Back to Leicester City

We focus back on Leicester after that rant of a tangent, apologies. Harry Maguire was sold to Manchester United in 2019/20 for a record sum for a defender; again illustrating the ownership’s astuteness in business.

Following this, last summer, the quite frankly overrated Chilwell was acquired by the Pensioners. Listen, the left-back is just about world-class, but his efforts for the Foxes in the latter section of his career were a disgrace: he should’ve been dropped for protecting his body and move to London after loads of poor performances placing LCFC at risk of losing points.

What does all this tell us? Essentially I’m predicting another star exit in preseason before 2021/22. Might it be Wilfred Ndidi now that the similarly towering midfielder Boubakary Soumare is almost through the door on Filbert Way? I hope not.
