Leicester City have been linked to transfers for a couple of German internationals now, but Jonas Hofmann seems an unlikely signing.

Robin Gosens was the first Deutschland-capped man the Foxes were interested in; Atalanta’s forward-thinking wingback would have been a serious addition. Though a play for Ryan Bertrand of Southampton seems to be what will realistically happen for Leicester at fullback.

Furthermore, Brendan Rodgers is also apparently after Jonas Hofmann for his team this summer. Whilst Hofmann would be another head turning arrival in Leicestershire, he isn’t that likely to join.

As per Caught Offside, the 28-year-old has no desperate desire to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he has been for five years. In fact, most of the Blue Army would invariably rather Dennis Praet be given a chance.

Potentially outgoing Leicester City players

While Leicester try to sign the correct personnel in as vital a transfer window as ever, the King Power team also want to offload incorrect signings and even perhaps some existing squad members who happened to come through the Foxes ranks.

Rachid Ghezzal is certainly one of the players the east Midlands outfit has desired off its payroll for some time now. The Algerian has definitely got some skill, as well as proving himself in Turkey’s Super Lig, but not so much in a competitive Italian Serie A.

Yet the team apparently after the wingman’s signature, Besiktas, are now said to be monitoring Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend in case the Turks can’t come to an agreement with LCFC over the former Fiorentina loanee. There is more from Sport Witness on that here.

Hamza Choudhury has been rumoured to be leaving Filbert Way for a long time now; Newcastle United was the original, legitimate destination for the Leicester Academy graduate. However, Rodgers being unable to secure the target he wanted derailed Choudhury’s exit; although reports now suggest a switch could be back on. Rodgers gaining more midfielders will dictate the outcome here.
