Leicester City star Wesley Fofana was pictured wearing an Arsenal shirt on holiday. He then made a peculiar excuse to Foxes fans after causing some concern about his intentions.

First of all, I think Fofana is a wonderful defender and a seemingly lovely guy: anyone who wears a constant smile has my vote. Yet, at age-20, he’s still prone to the odd naive mistake and wrong move. Wearing the jersey of a Premier League rival will do the trick.

Leicester supporters are well aware that the former Saint-Etienne man is a character; that, as well as his gift as a world-class footballer, endeared him to Foxes fans even further. When the side went on a poor run of results after he bleached his hair, the youthful centre-back publicly said he’d change the colour back to normal, which he promptly did. This token of respect or superstition made the player a man of the people – a true favourite at King Power Stadium.

Fofana is currently injured and on holiday in Dubai. And good luck to him; the Frenchman has certainly earned his vacation and rest for his incredible form this season. But the club will want him resting, not “coaching” games for his friends. Brendan Rodgers will now be worried that the starlet is participating in ‘kickabouts’, something prohibited for elite professionals – especially when injured.
