However, the thing that has upset some of the Foxes faithful is the fact that Fofana was wearing an Arsenal FC shirt whilst playing, sorry, ‘coaching’ abroad. Listen, he can do what he wants within reason; sporting a Gunners top definitely means nothing with respect to joining the London outfit this summer (‘LOLs’ at some Gunners fans’ thirst and delusional theories).

Following the photo causing a major stir between King Power and Emirates fans online, Fofana took to Twitter to explain why he is in an EPL rival’s iconic garb. Essentially the French Under-21 man says he was tricked into being in red by close friends as they swapped shirts at the final whistle. OK(?). Probably should avoid that, Wes, if you’re reading, I know you follow FoL’s account.

To his credit, Fofana also confirmed that the picture wasn’t intended for public viewing on social media, but presumably a private one for his “sphere”. Furthermore, the likeable athlete then offered an apology to the Blue Army for any offence caused. While additionally denouncing the friends who seized an opportunity for “bad buzz”, in the players own words.

Finally, and most pleasingly for Leicester support, Fofana also claims he has no animosity towards Arsenal or their fans, but stated that ‘only blue is in his heart’.
