Leicester City have had a bid rejected for a highly-rated defender, this may mean another target is eventually signed by the Foxes.

He and his international team may have lost their opening game of Euro2020, but Robin Gosens is still a wanted target. I assume that goes for many top European clubs: even against the incredible French side there were times when the attacking fullback or wingback threatened down the flank, along with appearing to concern Benjamin Pavard due to the German’s guile, craft and determination.

Gosens is said to be a Leicester transfer target this summer; he is a signing that, if captured, would surely encourage other premium talent to join the Brendan Rodgers project at King Power Stadium. However, an initial offer of £17 million for the versatile Atalanta left-back has apparently been rejected:

"According to the Italian outlet La Gazetta dello Sport, the Foxes have made an opening offer of £17 million for the highly-rated German international. However, the report claims that Atalanta rejected the bid for Gosens, informing Leicester that their asking price is almost double the fee they presented at £30m.Via Football Fancast"

Is a bid for Coutinho likely?. dark. Next

Which player will be Leicester City’s left-back next season?

There is chance that neither of these wanted men will make it to Filbert Way during the current window. Or Gosens may even eventually arrive as a fresh Fox – £30m is a fair fee. Yet Ryan Bertrand is also still a feasible addition. There is Luke Thomas as well, but he is presumably considered too inexperienced to handle a complete campaign as No.1 choice for Leicester.

Then again it might ultimately be a completely separate left-sided man to join the defence, even one whom is not actually linked with the east Midlands team at the moment. Right now, it’s anyone’s guess. Though Gosens is such a great possibility on the left, as a cynical supporter myself, I can’t see it happening.
