Championship club Bristol City are likely to have three Leicester City legends in their squad next season, if reports are to be believed.

Good old Nige, eh? That’s right, Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson is working his magic in the second English division once more. And it appears as though he’s going to be relying on assistance and experience from three ‘old heads’ whom he has previously worked with.

Leicester legends Danny Simpson, Andy King and Matty James are tipped to sign for the Robins for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign.

Of course, Simpson reunited with former boss Pearson after initially being under him at the Foxes during the 2014/15 term. The latter relied on and backed Simpson despite criticism from a charity concerned with the protection and support of women affected by violence, Women’s Aid, which is based in Bristol. But the defender’s tenure in the South East went well and the ex-LCFC gaffer clearly wants to retain the right-back.

Meanwhile King is also said to be on the verge of joining the Ashton Gate outfit imminently, as per Bristol Post.

In spite of being a veteran, the midfielder who will be 33 in October, still certainly has something to offer ambitious teams. I recall witnessing him receive the Man of the Match award versus Manchester City three or so years ago and thinking ‘he may not be on Filbert Way for much longer, yet he has many years left in football’.

Lastly, James will potentially be another on Pearson’s list of players next season; the former Manchester United trainee is admired as a talented member of any side he’s with. Naturally the 29-year-old has suffered as badly as any footballer with injuries that comes to mind. Hopefully James will get more playing time after impressing at Coventry in 2020/21.
