Leicester: Chelsea must double Caglar Soyuncu value to sign
If the Turkish journalist who claims Manchester United and Chelsea are vying to sign Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester City during this transfer window is correct, the London side will have to pay a high price.
Does anyone know if the website notasellingclub.com is available? Because that domain would suit the ambitious east Midlands outfit. Yes Leicester have skilfully negotiated expensive fees for Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell in consecutive seasons, but the team has ironically or ingeniously improved following both departures.
Of course, that reported £130 million injection from the pair of aforementioned sales ensured the Foxes continued developing and evolving without financial difficulties. That is in spite of having particularly rich but prudent owners. They certainly won’t be pressured to sell as seen with previous ownership.
Nevertheless, Foxes of Leicester cannot rule out LCFC selling another high profile asset this off-season. However, there are certain players whom Leicester would naturally be wise to attempt to keep: Youri Tielemans, Harvey Barnes and Wesley Fofana are the most important trio I’d nominate. Retaining Wilfred Ndidi is important; as is James Maddison’s stay due to exceptional playmakers being hard to source despite obvious drawbacks to luxury players.
Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu to Chelsea?
You probably noticed that I omitted Caglar Soyuncu’s name from my short list of ‘must keep men’. Basically I think Fofana and Jonny Evans are more crucial to the contemporary era, with the Frenchman possibly a future world-class centre-back. Therefore if LCFC have to offload someone before the 2021/22 campaign begins, Soyuncu is my nomination from the stars.
Incidentally, Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be interested in signing the Turkey international. According to a report in football.london, there is speculation around Soyuncu’s tenure at LCFC. A £40m valuation is mentioned – yet I can assure them that the defender won’t be sold that cheap. The value would most likely be doubled by King Power chiefs.
