Reportedly Leicester City previously made an offer for Robin Gosens which was declined. This is how much Atalanta want for their star.

With England meeting their biggest international rival on Tuesday evening, it seems an appropriate time to discuss the Foxes’ intention to sign the German. Supporters of the English side definitely fancy having Gosens on our team! It’s not that Leicester are short of quality full-backs/wing-backs – Ricardo Pereira, Timothy Castagne, James Justin who is currently injured – though having a world-class left-footed player specifically for that role would be ideal.

Gosens is certainly my realistic choice for a perfect addition: the Atalanta man consistently causes multiple problems for opposition right-backs during games. Whilst usually elegantly and satisfactorily dealing with issues at the opposite end, as well.

Leicester City bid for target

Leicester have previously made a €25million offer for the 26-year-old – just over £21m – which was rejected by the Italian club, as per HITC. Furthermore, the publication suggests the figure that would secure you a chance at agreeing terms with Gosens is between €35-40m.

A quoted valuation that may be a bit rich for Leicester, who have other options such as Ryan Bertrand on a free. Additionally the outlet says the Foxes lead Juventus and Inter Milan in the pursuit.

However, transfer supremo and Italian football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, was asked if the mystery left-back whom he’s been referring to could possibly be Gosens and subsequently replied negatively. This is a sort of nail in the coffin for those in the Blue Army who desire the German on Filbert Way – yet there is always a chance the Foxes will go back in for their man.

Although, Bertrand is apparently on the precipice of joining LCFC, as explained by Foxes of Leicester on Monday. If the former Southampton defender does complete his move to the King Power outfit then don’t expect any more Gosens talk. Missing out on Champions League entry and his keenness to remain in mainland Europe will decider here, in my opinion.
