The attacking fullbacks

Count them, three at minimum, four if you count an U23. There is one name which remains a Leicester-supporter’s favourite: Ricardo Pereira.

‘Ricky P’ can do it all when fully fit. He can bomb forward and knock in crosses, cut inside and have a shot, tackle literally anywhere on the right flank, and either stay high or further back. He remains the Swiss army knife.

I’m not going to judge him on last season, with injury and fitness preventing him from featuring. Meanwhile, Timothy Castagne joined the Foxes and is clearly our other primary option.

Left or right, Castagne is a defender’s nightmare, scoring on his debut and knocking up several assists. The young fullback is clearly the heir to Ricky P’s throne and provides all the attacking intent we want.

On the left though, Brendan Rodgers has the young Luke Thomas to develop. We all remember that wonder goal he scored against Manchester United at the backend of the 20/21 season, so well all know how good he can be on the attack.

Naturally left-footed and aggressive, the only qualities he must hone are his positioning and strength the hold players up. Watch this player, he is going places. Unless Flynn progresses into an attacking talent, there is little competition for Thomas in the future.
