Leicester expected to complete signing of centre-back

Leicester city appear to be moving in on their fourth senior team signing of the summer with 21 year old Turkish international Ozan kabak linked with a move to the King power stadium.
Kabak gained a taste of Premier League football last season during a short term loan with Liverpool but has returned to relegated Schalke 04 who need to offload the player due to financial issues.
The Foxes have been linked with a move for the young centre-half for the past few months but reports breaking today would suggest genuine intent from Leicester who are keen to bolster their defensive depth.
Additionally, the Blue Army will be well aware of recent defensive addition Ryan Bertrand who has 258 Premier league appearances under his belt but may not be as familiar with Kabak who made just nine appearances for Liverpool during his half season loan.
Kabak is a young defender with bags of potential and should provide good depth for Brendan Rodgers who is keen to add to his squad after a season plagued by injuries. Kabak is a ball playing centre-back who should thrive as part of a back three but also formed a good partnership in a back four with Nat Phillips before getting injured during his time in Merseyside.
The general consensus from Liverpool fans is that he is a player with a very high ceiling but is currently still learning his trade and would need a club who can nurture his talent. Learning from experienced players such as Jonny Evans and having a national teammate in Caglar Soyuncu Should make Kabak’s integration a smooth one and provide him an ideal environment to develop.
The biggest benefit of the potential Kabak signing is his seemingly low price tag, as mentioned previously Schalke need to sell and have set the asking price for the defender at £12.8 million, in today’s market this is a relatively low risk transfer and with the potential upside Kabak brings his value would rise significantly over the next few years.
The German outfit have reportedly set a deadline of Sunday the 18th to sell the player and have given him the week off to sort out his future so this could be a very fast moving deal should Leicester City be able to agree personal terms with the player’s agent.
