Players in similar positions hurt Hamza Choudhury

Wilfred Ndidi has been Brendan Rodger’s prime choice for the defensive midfielder role. The 24-year-old Nigerian is exceptionally brilliant with his regular performances. He reads the pitch with the ball and channelizes the Foxes’ counter-attacking fluidly by linking the backline to the front in quick motion through his charted territories.

Going into the next season, LCFC has attained the additional services of Boubakary Soumaré, who plays in the same position with a similar role. It means that the players who play in the same positional domain will find themselves at the bottom of the totem pole.

So it’s of no one’s surprise that both Nampalys Mendy and Hamza Choudhury find themselves in this unfortunate situation. Either Nampalys Mendy or Hamza Choudhury can be sold. Mendy is valued at €5M as compared to Choudhury, who is valued at €12M.

The man Newcastle want’s price tag would certainly help the club to get a better return to add to the budget for the window. Mendy would probably stay as he has played more matches to help out the team during a significant injury crisis last season and has recently represented started to represent Senegal in international stages.
