I also think the Brazilian is ready for a new permanent home, after spending last season in Germany with Bayern Münich, and, again, Leicester City don’t have the financial backing to achieve a deal of this stature.

Lastly, the Foxes are looking for longevity in their investments. The recruiting policy is fairly transparent, invest into upcoming talents ahead of their breakout years, coach them into their primes, and either profit with their performances for the club, or financially. With Coutinho nearing the end of his “prime years” and also being unavailable for a permanent transfer — at least for Leicester City, then they’re getting a short-term, expensive, and a loss on their investment.

This deal is the antithesis of how the Foxes recruit. It’s closer to that of the Adrien Silva and Islam Slimani deals — and we know how those panned out. For all of these reasons, I don’t think Leicester will sign Philippe Coutinho. If the loan move was to happen, he’s still an exceptionally talented individual and would undoubtedly add quality into the Foxes squad, it would just be at the expense of a youthful, more profitable winger.
