Leicester City’s sister club OH Leuven is being rocked by claims from Foxes legend Andy King who played there for one season. Here is what you need to know.

In 2017, King Power completed the purchase of OH Leuven – a second division club in the Belgian leagues at the time. This would lead to many managers and players from Leicester City setting foot in the Belgian side.

Under the King Power group, OHL were promoted to the first division, and continue to challenge the top teams.

However, Leicester legend Andy King – who helped the Foxes lift the Premier League title – will not have made friends with OHL manager Marc Brys with his recent claims.

Leicester City’s Andy King’s explosive claims

As per LeicestershireLive, ‘Kingy’ told of his disastrous time in Belgium. He was played only once in his whole 18 months present, and never really got on with Brys.

This may have been partly due to King being an ‘owners’ player. A player brought in because he is loved by the owners and not by the manager, Kingy was never accepted.

King also claims that the same negative treatment was felt by every Leicester player present at OHL last season.

Transfermarkt shows us that OHL had Josh Eppiah, Kamal Sowah, Daniel Iversen, Filip Benkovic, and Andy King at the club. However, it was only the exciting young prospect Sowah who got any fair game time.

Benkovic did not feature a minute, Eppiah was only a substitute, and Iversen featured only five times. Considering they were loaned there to develop and make an impression, simply not using them is unacceptable.

The treatment of these players by Brys, and his attitude towards the owners of the club, was and is downright disrespectful. If King’s claims are true, then sending players on loan to our sister club is a mistake while he remains in charge.

Andy King transferred to Bristol City, where he linked back up with Nigel Pearson. A miniature Leicester City reunion is occurring in the ‘Robins’ side.
