Was injury the reason for another awkward Wesley Fofana display. The supremely talented centre-back won’t be too happy with that performance for Leicester City.

The Foxes have been known for their excellent scouting of the players who are lesser known at the world football stage. Every season Leicester tend to buy a player which was not a famous face earlier who eventually turns out to be a great talent. One of the biggest example of such instance has been the signing of French U-21 International Wesley Fofana who has been so crucial to the way Brendan Rodgers operates his gameplay.

The young centre-back has shown immense maturity and gave match winning performances last season. However, a very good season of his came to a bitter end when he suffered an injury in the last game of Premier League against Tottenham at King Power Stadium, which also forced him to pull out of the contention for France in Under-21 at their Euro competition.

The preparations for the new season are already underway as LCFC prepare to face Manchester City at Wembley in a mouth-watering clash for the Community Shield on 7th August, lifting the curtain for the new season. Henceforth it is certainly a priority of the gaffer that the 20-year-old returns to full fitness.

In the latest interview with LCFCtv, Wesley Fofana said this:

"“I’m feeling good. I finished last season with an injury, but now I’ve recovered. I worked hard with the physios over the break to get better and now I’m back training with the group; I feel good .I think I adapted quite quickly, as my game suits the way football is played in England. My team-mates and the Club have also helped to settle me in. It’s gone well, and I hope to do even better next season.”Reports Leicester Mercury"

A penalty shootout decided the initial friendly against Burton Albion; the club from east Midlands looked bit dull by the way they moved the ball. Understandably, the Frenchman also seemed to take his time after coming from the serious hamstring issue as Leicester continue to prepare for an exciting season to build upon their previous success stories.
