Leicester City meet Wolverhampton Wanderers in both sides’ 2021/22 Premier League opener. The Foxes are FA Cup holders, while Wolves have a new manager.

Leicester will be aiming for three points as they prepare for a meeting with Midlands rivals Wolves in the Saturday 3pm fixture list. Brendan Rodgers and his team are buoyed by a great squad, along with promise incoming players such as Ryan Bertrand, Boubakary Soumare – I expect the Frenchman to be an EPL hit – and Patson Daka. Not to mention centre-back Jannik Vestergaard from Southampton.

Clearly Leicester are in need of another winger, preferable or with necessity dictating that the man is a left-footed right-winger. Yet separate injuries to Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana have decimated the King Power defence. That is why the Dane’s capture became paramount.

However, injuries have still piled and in many cases aren’t gotten over in the Foxes camp: James Justin, Evans, Fofana and Papy Mendy remain out. Timothy Castagne’s fitness will be assessed ahead of the match before a decision can be made.

As said before, Vestergaard’s services have been secured for the Foxes. And he’s already down with The Inbetweeners infused LCFC humour. Some time ago, Jamie Vardy made a joke from the iconic and hilarious show; Danish internationals Kasper Schmeichel and then Saint Pierre-Emile Højbjerg were greeting one another prior to a club match and Vardy improvised a famous line.

Here is what Vestergaard, who should start versus Bruno Lage’s side, said on the classic moment and the No.9 following signing for the east Midlands outfit:

light. Must Read. Watch Kelechi Iheanacho win and score penalty to lift Community Shield

"“I wasn’t aware what that was referring to before I got here, but then I watched The Inbetweeners and tried to understand the culture. It’s a fun clip. I’m just happy I don’t have to play him (Vardy).”Via Jordan Blackwell"
