Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers plans to be ruthless with his Foxes stars if COVID-19 rules are stupidly and dangerously broken once again.

And we should think so, too! That especially goes as the Northern Irishman at the Leicester helm can be thought of as a little forgiving, to put it politely. Other less measured appraisals of Rodgers’ man management are that he is too soft on some of his stars when they make mistakes or are consistently underperforming.

That assessment is a bit unfair, or off, as we saw from training ground videos at the time Rodgers’ tenure at Liverpool. When pushed, or pressed into a corner or an awkward position – the gaffer is as tough as he needs to be and reprimands players effectively.

We saw this uncompromising approach with Ayoze Perez, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Hamza Choudhury after the idiotic party they held during full lockdown in the previous campaign. The less that unfortunate incident gets talked about, the better! Foxes of Leicester seem to be saying that more often at the moment.

When asked recently if he would ban, or more appropriately drop, his squad members if coronavirus regulations were disregarded, the boss replied affirmatively:

"“You can be a decent person and be ruthless. We have a standard on and off the pitch which I demand, and part of that is you have to sacrifice and commit, and at that time those young guys fell short of that.“I didn’t fall out with them, but it was not the professionalism we wanted at that time.”– Brendan RodgersMore here, at The Free Press"

Leicester City linked with approach for Middlesbrough man

According to Football League World, Middlesbrough are having to fend off interest from Premier League sides for one of their stars, Djed Spence. Southampton and Leicester are both mentioned as interested parties in this particular story.

Spence has started two out of four possible matches for Neil Warnock this season in the Championship. He is a 21-year-old English right-back; this is maybe one for development, such as James Justin.
