Leicester ready bid for Premier League winger after failing to sign Madueke
Leicester City are now apparently switching their attention to Premier League winger Dwight McNeil after failing to sign Noni Madueke.
Whether rumours were begun and circulated by an agent, representative, friend or source of Madueke in order to push PSV Eindhoven into offering their star asset a new deal or not, we will never know. What Foxes of Leicester does almost certainly understand, is that the Foxes were definitely interested in acquiring the services of the talented Englishman.
Though that deal will now not be resurrected, as Madueke penned a four-year increased deal at PSV. Oh dear. You probably saw FoL’s article saying there was a chance of signing the 19-year-old still, just a few hours before he made it clear he was staying in Holland. That’s the transfer market for you!
Leicester City eye Premier League winger
Obviously some will describe Leicester’s supposed strive to capture Madueke as a failure. I think that term is a little harsh and misleading: the east Midlands team feasibly made inquiries over the wingman, but it appears his current club were destined and determined to retain his services.
Clearly LCFC must now move on, and they will definitely have a list of potential incomings for the wide role. Unfortunately, the shortcoming I accuse the King Power side of is not securing the appropriate winger long, long ago. Basically that person should have been designated and sourced first during this summer window.
However, it seems there may be a move made by Brendan Rodgers’ recruits staff for a Premier League man. Burnley’s Dwight McNeil is still said to be on the radar, and Burnley Express suggest LCFC are prioritising a bid for the 21-year-old before transfer opportunities cease on August 31.
