Leicester injury news: Ricardo Pereira’s status

Sadly Leicester City defender Ricardo Pereira had to be withdrawn versus Norwich City directly after assisting another goal for Jamie Vardy. Here is the Portuguese’s fitness status.

Ricardo had just literally begun finding his very impressive form once again, even supplying assists for star striker Vardy. Alas, disaster then struck LCFC defenders once again.

The Portugal international was substituted immediately after the incident with another recent convalescent, Timothy Castagne, replacing his teammate. Castagne’s return is a welcome one, indeed.

Following the match, which the King Power side rather fortunately won 2-1, boss Brendan Rodgers said his attacking right-back would need to undergo a scan on a hamstring issue before a prognosis is offered.

However, Foxes of Leicester believes Ricardo might be available again on September 11 for the Manchester City clash. This estimation is due to a message posted on social media by the player; but featuring on the bench is most feasible.

Transfer window deadline day for Leicester City and Premier League clubs

At the time of writing, Leicester fans remain eagerly awaiting one last piece of transfer news from their beloved club. At the start of the summer the Foxes sealed moves for three great senior squad additions: Boubakary Soumare, Patson Daka and Ryan Bertrand.

Though, due to injuries to commanding centre-half Jonny Evans and young, fellow centre-back Wesley Fofana, LCFC had to alter their plans of acquiring a right-sided wingman. Although, many of the Blue Army wanted that role filled prior to any of the others, including central defence.

Yet, Jannik Vestergaard was signed from Southampton as a possible starting CB; and he was certainly going to cover the aforementioned sidelined pair until he also became injured.

There is optimism that the Dane and the Northern Ireland international will be ready following the national team break. In the meantime, despite slightly downplaying the scenario, Rodgers’ outfit are set to bring in winger Ademola Lookman.
