Leicester City’s U23s triumphed over former champion side Everton in only their first win of the Premier League 2 season. Here are the starlets who shone.

Life is never easy in a development set up. Places in teams are competitive and hard to earn, and rotation is a regular feature of their game.

Players who do shine are often shipped off next thing to lower league senior teams. This limits the quality of the sides massively. That is, unless you are Manchester City and have a plethora of U23 talent.

Nevertheless, there are several Leicester City starlets coming through the academy, looking to follow the trajectory of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Leicester City v Everton: a big win

The Seagrave based side have had a rough start to the Premier League 2 season. After their first home game was called off due to a COVID outbreak, they have seen just two draws and a loss.

That loss was a humiliating 6-1 thrashing away from home at the hands of Crystal Palace. Their match against 18/19 champions Everton became a mammoth match to kickstart their season.

The Foxes, led by Ben Petty and overseen by Brendan Rodgers, came out on top in a 3-1 home victory.
