Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has even managed to put a positive spin on being booed by certain Foxes supporters versus Burnley.

There is always more than one perspective surrounding any issue or debate – that’s sort of the point of debating. And a man like Brendan Rodgers – a seemingly honourable, unassuming bloke at the top level of a famous and much scrutinised job – will tend to focus on the positives in any given situation, scenario, or whilst ‘under questioning’.

Do you understand the picture I’m painting of the Leicester manager? Good; I’m sure anybody that considers themselves a serious Foxes fan or proper football fan in general or a neutral would conceivably already be well aware of the points I’m making. Essentially Rodgers is a perpetual optimist, with no in between. If he was not in charge of the east Midlands club – say the Northern Irishman was just a regular mate ‘down the pub’ – that endless buoyancy could become quite irritating.

Someone who can’t recognise problems, or sweeps them directly under the carpet like a 5 metre Wilfred Ndidi pass, could be excused of ignoring issues and allowing them to deteriorate. Additionally, heaven forbid, a dreamer or idealist could be thought of as deluded. That rings a bell.

Leicester City boss accepts being booed by Foxes fans

During the Clarets contest, Rodgers was booed for withdrawing dangerous on-loan winger Ademola Lookman. To be fair to the gaffer he had the once exquisite James Maddison to introduce to the clash, but some of the King Power home support weren’t pleased with ‘BR’ for his choice of substitution.

Rodgers was asked about the incident following the 2-2 draw and had some inventive spin preprepared:

Hot. Best structure & Leicester XI atm. light

"“That’s what happens sometimes. We’ve been together [fans and manager], what, two and three-quarters years so to, maybe, get the first boo is okay. I’ll take that after that length of time.“I think it was one where Ade [Lookman] has done great, he’s played in the week, he’s getting up to speed fitness-wise. He’s then played today and he was reaching for some gels and starting to tire. So we just wanted to, after about 70 minutes, get a fresh pair of legs into the game.”Via TalkSPORT"
