Everything Leicester City supporters need to know about the Foxes’ apparent interest in former Liverpool player Luis Alberto.

Evidently Leicester are planning for the future even with the transfer window not reopening until January, as all top tier global clubs shall.

Some Foxes fans are of the opinion that central defence is still lacking: partly due to injuries and some preemptive criticism towards recent towering signing Jannik Vestergaard from Southampton.

Another area of interest from the Blue Army with regard to prospective strengthening: the right-wing; yet some of the faithful seem to have finally gotten it through their heads that Ademola Lookman could be a great acquisition.

While James Maddison struggles to replicate what he did so well for a brief but productive period last season – scoring goals and supplying assists and an abundance of key passes – LCFC and Brendan Rodgers will consider targets and replacements for his and every other position.

That sentiment or prudence especially applies to assets such as Maddison, whom Arsenal covet and seemingly thought would fit their style and club like a glove. And the No.10 probably would have done, if form was found; though that is definitely an inconsequential point now with the ascendancy of Emile Smith-Rowe and Martin Odegaard at Emirates Stadium.

Leicester City said to be monitoring Serie A star

Luis Alberto, formerly of Liverpool and now at Italian club Lazio, is on the east Midlands outfit’s radar according to reports. Alberto is a fairly versatile player as he can play in the centre of midfield, attacking midfield or as a second striker.

This means the Spaniard is a relatively ideal candidate to secure if, heaven forbid, Tielemans moved, and certainly if ‘Madders’ departs. Though some may see that as a downgrade with Alberto now age-29 and failing to prove himself when with the Reds in England.

Also credited with admiration for the White and Sky Blues’ man are Atletico Madrid as well as AC Milan, potentially giving the Foxes a hard task. Liverpool will receive a cut of any permanent deal, too; meanwhile Lazio are not open to losing Alberto, stories suggests. The fact that he was criticised by manager Maurizio Sarri for missing training when linked with a switch will not fill the Leicester faithful with hope.
