Leicester City face Legia Warsaw in Poland in their second Europa League fixture of the season. This is the lineup to expect as the Foxes travel.

From obscene refereeing decisions to the brilliance of Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes were pinned back against Napoli in their first UEL fixture.

For their second UEL fixture of the season, Legia Warsaw represent the next biggest threat in an already tough group.

For our previous fixture this is how Rodgers had the King Power side set out: Kasper Schmeichel, Ryan Bertrand, Jannik Vestergaard, Jonny Evans, Timothy Castagne, Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumare, Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes, Patson Daka, and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Of course, Ndidi was suspended after a second yellow card late into the match. Both of his fouls were dubious decisions at best, and the decision to card him twice was utterly incompetent. We go into next match without him.

What to expect of Leicester City

The travelling side will not rotate too much. This is a must win match in the UEL campaign, and with Crystal Palace the next team to face, Rodgers will not treat this as an EFL run-around.

The ‘Great Dane’ Schmeichel will no doubt be in goal for the Foxes. Leicester will likely stick to their back four, though the personnel depends upon the persistence of Evans’ injury.

If Evans is available, the backline will look like this: Bertrand, Caglar Soyuncu, Evans, and Ricardo Pereira. There is no doubt this would be our strongest possible XI at this moment. Vestergaard may be in for Evans should he not be available.

The midfield will look quite different. Without Ndidi, I do not see Rodgers sticking with DM-CM-AM. Instead, I expect to see two deeper CMs and one more creative player. A tradition 2-1 triangle.

This will be comprised of Youri Tielemans, ‘Bouba’, and ‘Ayo’. I can also see James Maddison or Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall placed in midfield in the place of Bouba and Ayo. ‘Starman’ is a nailed in player.

The front would likely be three, though this might include two strikers playing wide, and some other wide player. I expect Daka and Nacho to start again, this time with Ademola Lookman partnering with them.

Later on in the game, I expect Tielemans to be withdrawn for Hamza Choudhury or Maddison if not already on the pitch. I would also expect a switch to a back three (‘Ade’ off) should we be looking to protect a lead.
