Leicester City’s Timothy Castagne has garnered positive feelings from supporters with honest and frank assessments of the team. Let’s see what he has said.

The King Power side have been in tough times. This season has already seen a defensive injury crisis, poor form, extreme highs in winning the shield, and the first utterance of ‘Rodgers out’ by aa tiny section of the supporter base.

Across seven games, the Foxes have won two, lost three, and drawn two. This is not the same Leicester side which has been in the top four for longer than any other side over the last two seasons.

Brendan Rodgers has come under fire from supporters for slow or lacklustre substitutions, an unwillingness to play Kelechi Iheanacho, Ademola Lookman, and his persistence with an out of form Harvey Barnes. However, one player has spoken candidly about the teams form and performances.

Leicester City’s Belgian right-back

The Belgian right-back Castagne has been impressive since signing for Leicester City, but now it is his words and not his performances which is impressing fans.

As per LeicestershireLive, after the Burnley draw the former Atalanta player had some strong words for the squad:

"“I think we’ve been shooting ourselves in the foot the last few weeks, so we have to get back to our form”"

Castagne is right to highlight the defensive deficiencies of the squad and their current predicament whereby we have been giving the opposition easy chances through positioning and a lack of pressure.

Further to this, he commented on the lack of creativity in the side – something supporters have been bemused over for some time.

"“We created some chances, but I’m kind of difficult so I’m never satisfied, and I think the whole team can’t be satisfied with that”"

The team has to do better. Even after these critical comments, the team followed up with a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace, gaining just one point after being 0-2 up at half time.

Another example of his honesty is shown in a separate interview, also as per LeicestershireLive. In this interview, he once more portrayed leadership qualities in his words.

"“We know our qualities. At the minute it’s not enough and I’m the first one to say that I’m angry at me, at the team, but in a good way. I think we need that in order to get out of this and build something positive”"

We all know the Foxes can do much better than three losses in seven games. Quality is not enough to win games, you must try, and you must be aware of your opposition.
