It looks like Leicester City and Belgium midfielder Dennis Praet may never return to the Foxes after leaving on loan.

Leicester fans generally seemed fairly bemused as to why Praet was ‘not in manager Brendan Rodgers’ plans’ for the 2021/22 season. And subsequent confusion reigned when the Belgian was allowed to leave on a season-long switch to Italian club, Torino.

Though I can shed light on the scenario for those in the Blue Army who remain in the dark: Praet is such a talent that he deserved to be playing somewhere, and likely consequently demanded a move upon the realisation of being unwanted. Alongside the obvious fact that Boubakary Soumare was signed to back-up Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans.

Whilst exceptional players like James Maddison hover and understudy Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall waits in the wings. Dewsbury-Hall additionally offers the homegrown capacity which helps occasionally.

Basically, Rodgers doesn’t rate Praet as he does some of the formerly mentioned group. And that is that, as they say. The latter issued a type of ultimatum to the boss before so Foxes of Leicester cannot envision an easy resolution or compromise here.

How Jamie Vardy stands up in Leicester City’s record books

Recently lcfc.com published an up-to-date list of their all-time historical achievements, with the most decorated Foxes detailed. Current striker and iconic club legend Jamie Vardy – you can guarantee that the former England international will receive a statue at King Power Stadium at some stage following his eventual retirement – is involved. But how does Vardy compare to other previously stars and where does he sit?

Well, Vards is represented in a few sections of the east Midlands outfit’s direct history: the No.9 is very close to ex-Fox Andy King with regard to appearances; meanwhile Vardy is the fourth highest goalscorer ever, but he is 120 behind Arthur Chandler; Vardy has scored the most in a single season (24), which was also impressively in the Premier League.
