Rumours have it that Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is a wanted man by footballing superpowers. In fact, three major Premier League clubs are said to be considering the Northern Irishman as a possible new manager.

Ignoring the silly and frankly misguided #RodgersOut faction of the Blue Army for now – surely the triumph against Manchester United made those fans alter their opinions slightly whilst celebrating a return to great performances – please allow us to reiterate the notion that Rodgers is the best man for the Leicester job.

Rodgers is also the best of the bunch of candidates if the Foxes sacked him anyway – so he would be applying for his own or former job in that parallel universe. Basically, he’s going nowhere and LCFC is better off for that. I’m supposed to say “in Foxes of Leicester’s opinion” at that point – but it is obviously true. Unless the side are recruiting Pep Guardiola in the new year.

And the ex-Liverpool boss’s suitability is to such an extent that other, larger clubs have begun to notice and presumably track the east Midlands side’s current gaffer. Newcastle want him, and Manchester City are interested too, according to Daily Mail. Maybe my Guardiola joke wasn’t too far-fetched after all – yeah, right!

Manchester United are also mentioned as potential suitors too, a report states. Though recently the Foxes chief claimed he is content on Filbert Way.
