What it’s like getting drunk with Leicester City players? Most of you must remember former Fox Aleksandar Dragovic, he reveals the truth.
What a perfect weekend for Leicester City fans to uplift their downtrodden spirits as the jovial mood from their recent win against Manchester United is just ecstatic!
The Foxes are still euphoric as their party seems to have not ended since the triumphant 4-2 victory at home against Cristiano Ronaldo’s club. I’m sure whoever is reading this: if they reside in the blue tint of the spectrum – you have had a wonderfully sloshed conclusion to your wonderful weekend.
The celebratory moods in the local pubs were only a testament to the roar of the electric crowd at the King Power in the evening. Have you ever wondered how it is with the players when it comes to celebrating? I mean, they are the ones who ultimately get the job done.
Former Fox sheds light on Vardy and Leicester City’s parties
Most of you must remember Aleksandar Dragovic. The Austria international spent a loan spell the East Midlands club during the 2017-18 season and now has reflected on his fond memories from his recollections. Dragovic mentions a trip to Stockholm before facing Chelsea for the FA Cup quarter-final during March 2018.
"“Before our cup game against Chelsea, the players flew to Stockholm for three days, without the manager [Claude Puel], it was all arranged with the club, and they even sent a couple of security staff with us. Then we partied for three days long. One time we rampaged through the city in fancy dress.” – Aleksandar Dragovic via spox.com."
The centre-back highlights the contrast in cultures that he had experienced in his parent club compared to Leicester City. German club culture is mostly aim-oriented, and rightfully so as they seldom have reasonable opportunities for partying except for Bayern Munich.
"“Jamie (Vardy) kept bursting into shops dressed in his costume, and scaring the local people. We played Chelsea just a day and a half after returning and only lost after extra time. Something like this would be unthinkable in Germany.”"
Leicester City would not come out victorious after the scheduled affair, losing the tie 2-1. Jamie Vardy would equalize to take the game to an extra time, but only for Pedro to win it for the Londoners.
"“The people at Leicester would even tell us to go out for drinks together. The players were often in the pub. Of course, we didn’t drink so much we could no longer walk – but it was no problem for us to have a few beers.” – Dragovic added."
Dragovic returned to Leverkusen after featuring for the Foxes in 17 appearances. He remained on Filbert Way until 2021. The 30-year-old now has joined the historically acclaimed Serbian side of Red Star Belgrade on a three-year contract.
