Why Leicester Europa League game is so early on a new day
Why Leicester City’s important Europa League contest versus Spartak Moscow has been moved to such an early time on a different day to usual.
Pictured above is the Blue Army, and not just the ordinary members such as myself. No. These Leicestershire heroes travel around Europe, well anywhere and everywhere in the world actually, to follow, support and cheer on the Leicester team.
There the away faithful are in Poland during the rather disconcerting loss to Legia Warsaw a few weeks ago. The supporters deserve medals for that trip, in my humble opinion. Now, thanks to the heavy defeat of Manchester United over the previous weekend, things are finally looking upward for the east Midlands outfit this season.
LCFC’s upcoming Europa League contest is in Russia, of all places, against Spartak Moscow. Click here to be redirected to Foxes of Leicester’s preview article ahead of the match. And that encounter is at a very strange time, on a peculiar day, or certainly out-of-the-norm for the UEL. Kick off is 3:30pm on Wednesday, October 20.
Basically Uefa doesn’t allow more than a single game to be played in any one city on any given day. Therefore Lokomotiv Moscow’s match versus Galatasaray remains on Thursday in the Russian capital so not to clash with the English Premier League side’s match.
"But with Europa League matches not allowed to be played at the same time as Champions League matches because of TV contracts, both the matches will start at 3.30pm UK time.Via The Sun"
Addition to Leicester City Recruitment team
Meanwhile, as football continues on the pitch, changes happen off it. The Foxes have appointed Viktor Bezhani as a senior scout.
Bezhan came to the King Power Stadium earlier in the month, and was with Watford and Udinese earlier in his career.
