Leicester City FC: A Complete Football Manager 2022 Guide
By Nathan Wong
Will Alves:
One that may not be so familiar to Foxes fans, Will Alves is a tricky attacking midfielder that has bags of potential- ranging from 2.5-4.5 stars depending on the save. He’s already been recognised on BBC Football’s Wonderkids challenge, displaying an array of silky skills. At just 16 years of age, it’s not worth loaning him out just yet as his development will be better served in the academy.
Tawanda Maswanhise:
Maswanhise is a figure that impressively burst onto the scene during pre-season, and has impressed at times for the U-23’s, but like Alves, requires much work before being ready for first-team action. Nevertheless, Tawanda is one to be monitored closely and potentially sent out on loan to the lower leagues, although continuing in the U-23’s wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
Potential tactical styles
As the manager, you can utilise a number of tactical systems with the Foxes although injuries may hamstring your choice initially. The ubiquitous 4-2-3-1 Gegenpress remains a tempting choice, although it’s worth saying this system is not unbeatable as in past editions, making tactical alterations more important.
When it comes to styles, the game lists Gegenpress, Control Possession and Tiki-Taka as the most suited styles which fit into the current philosophy of the Leicester side. Formations wise, you could go with the 5-2-1-2/3-4-1-2 formation currently used by Rodgers or go back to a more familiar four at the back system.
Ultimately, as the manager the choice is yours! Now it’s your turn to try and bring the elusive Champions League football back to the King Power, and maybe even more!
