Leicester City fans are rightfully worried that their favorite Belgian star could depart in search of a glittering career elsewhere in the imminent future.

Youri Tielemans’ contract is going to expire during the summer of 2023. The club is assessing all its options and resources to pursue the midfielder. To extend his stay, Tielemans needs to see the layout of the project – of which he is an integral part.

However, if the 24-year-old does not arrive at a mutual agreement with the club, Leicester will be forced to sell him as a profitable asset in the European market. The Belgian’s representatives are in regular talks with the club management to assess what is on the table.

Fellow Premier League side Liverpool displayed their interest in the past for the Foxes’ midfielder. They have monitored his ongoing contract negotiations closely. But, the Bundesliga champions have also joined the party, interested in Tielemans’ traits which can become a serious asset for the Bavarians.

The East Midlanders are well aware of the fortune being favorable. Though the club is doing everything in their power to tie him down to a new deal, fans know better that it’s going to be a big task if they can pull it off successfully. With other teams sniffing around, it would be challenging to keep the Belgian international around for much longer.

"“There are reports. There is no turning down, there is nothing. There is just dialogue between the club and Youri’s people, I think the club are waiting to hear back from Youri’s people. But that is something out of my control. What I can control is his mentality, his commitment to the team, and you cannot question that. That’s my role within it all, to improve him as a player, to ensure his focus and commitment is on his performance for the team, and I don’t think you can argue against that.” – Brendan Rodgers on Youri Tielemans via Leicester Mercury."

Teams like Bayern Munich and Liverpool promise that extra temptation of regularly playing Champions League football every season, which is tough for a side like LCFC. Tielemans has been committed to representing the club and refrained from commenting publicly on his contract. He has kept his head lowered and focused on his football.

"“He’s not lost any focus whatsoever. He’s a really gifted young player and I have loved working with him. I understand the nature of the game. If his commitment changes or his focus changes, then it becomes an issue. I don’t see that with Youri at all, he’s so professional. He’s a really respectful young guy. His representatives have a job in terms of trying to do the best they can for him. I try to concentrate on the football side and give him my best.” – Rodgers adds."

Tielemans remains committed to Leicester’s cause. He will do his best until his future is confirmed. He has settled in the city quite well with his beautiful family. It will be a big decision for him, both personally and professionally, if he and his agent decide to end our journey with a goodbye.
