Wesley Fofana could return for this run of Leicester games
After the busy Christmas schedule of Premier League matches, star Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana could return for a crucial run of games.
The unbalanced defence resulting from the long-term absence of star 20 year old defender Fofana from the Leicester starting line-up was evident in the form of the formerly cool and composed Caglar Soyuncu.
Even the quality and generally consistent standout performer at the back, Jonny Evans, clearly benefits from having the mature-beyond-his-years Frenchman in the team. A three-man partnership including Daniel Amartey is one thing – a trio of centre-backs including Wesley Fofana is a thing of beauty.
‘When will the ex-Saint-Etienne man be ready to return?’ you ask, well, according to Brendan Rodgers it is not long now at all until the former is back in full-contact training with his Foxes team-mates. In fact, the Northern Irishman said the CB will ‘join the rest of the group’ during the upcoming international break.
Putting the comeback even more into focus and encouraging the Blue Army no end, was the sight of Fofana working out and looking in excellent shape on social media this past Tuesday.
Rodgers recently gave journalists a brief but insightful kind of timeline for Fofana’s fitness, which we can examine now in order to understand approximately when the defensive player will be available for selection and possibly come back into the first eleven.

So, let’s take a look at those fixtures, ruling out Xmas matches just before the New Year; it seems as though Liverpool on December 28 might be too soon for Fofana. However, the Norwich City clash on January 1 may just be the day.
Following this there will be an FA Cup contest around Jan 8, which could also be Fofana-day. Subsequently it is Burnley on the 15th.
