Who must be dropped

Rodgers threatened to drop Leicester City players who did not put in that effort to run around, so here are the potential names of stars who may not get that next opportunity to impress due to a lack of defensive work rate.

For note, these are great players but certainly have not hit that level yet: Maddison, Vestergaard, Caglar Soyuncu (when without Evans), Kelechi Iheanacho, Harvey Barnes, and Boubakary Soumare.

Many of these players simply cannot be dropped from the squad due to our depth, but are at risk should the Northern Irish coach decide they are not contributing as much as their colleagues. For example, after the Arsenal and Leeds matches, there might be cause to starting Patson Daka with Vardy instead of either a front three or using ‘Nacho’.

I expect few real changes to the side, but the formation may be switched to reincorporate Ndidi and Maddison to their traditional positions and shape, where hardworking players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall might be used as impact subs from the bench.
