Leicester injuries: expected return date for Tielemans
Leicester City have received a bit of an injury blow which shouldn’t affect the team for too long. What is the expected return date for Youri Tielemans?
Leicester can not afford any more high profile injury issues to deal with as Brendan Rodgers’ team struggle to replicate the thrilling football from the previous two seasons. Unfortunately Tielemans, of all stars, is now a doubt for the upcoming game with Chelsea.
Belgium’s intelligent athlete will apparently withdraw from international duty over the next week or so with a calf problem. Tielemans sustained the difficulty during the recent 1-1 draw against Leeds United; now he may face up to three weeks on the sideline, a report claims.
If ‘starman’ is unavailable for approximately 21 days and then is not quite fully match fit, he might potentially miss the Premier League games versus the Pensioners and Watford, along with the crucial Europa League contest vs Legia Warsaw. Following this, Leicester meet Southampton on December 1. There is also the possibility that Tielemans will just recover and return to the side immediately.
Leicester City linked with famous name from the past – but it’s not him
When this writer thinks of graceful yet combative and technically gifted Foxes midfielders from the past, Esteban Cambiasso springs eternally to mind in the last six or so years. The Argentine legend was only at the club for under a year – one marvellous term altogether – though Cambiasso had a wonderful impact on the side. He was the ideal veteran for all youth and senior players to admire, not just the midfield men.
And now LCFC are connected with signing a Cambiaso again, Andrea Cambiaso. Notice the different spelling, but you get the gist. He can play on the left or right of defence as well as being versatile enough to slot into the middle of the pitch occasionally. Other interested parties are said to be Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and AC Milan. With the 21-year-old out-of-contract at the campaign’s end, Genoa will hope that they can ensure his services remain with them.
