Jonny Evans had missed beginning seven matches of the season for Leicester City due to an inflammatory, pathological condition of Plantar Fasciitis.

The International break is always an interesting time in various aspects. Several facts or stories which are unknown before tend to come out during this period. The same happened with Leicester’s main centre-back Jonny Evans, who has disclosed an interesting revelation in an interview which he gave while being away on duty with Northern Ireland.

Every member of the blue army must be aware of the injury struggles the 33-year-old has been going through since the end of the past term. However, lately he has been fully fit and it seems that his recovery might be complete. The gaffer has always stressed about the importance of the former West Bromwich Albion defender and he has been immense for Brendan Rodgers since his return. The defence is still conceding some silly goals – but the situation has been better since his arrival.

Recently the Northern Irishman featured for his country in a well-fought draw against the current Euro champions. In a latest interview before that clash he said this:

"“There was a point probably where I did think that myself (the injury could be career-threatening).“I thought, ‘I’m really struggling here, maybe I’m not going to get back,” Evans continues.“I had people around me, club doctors and people who I spoke to who gave me great reassurance on that.” I wish I’d been able to come back a bit sooner. I wasn’t able to but I think there was maybe a point where I thought, ‘Maybe that’s me done, I’ll be on 91 caps forever.“But now I’m back here, my injury is in a great place. I wouldn’t even call it an injury anymore. I’d  love to get to 100 (caps). I was on 91 for a long time. There’s been a frustrating element to it. I know not that many players have managed to get to 100. It would be an achievement that I really want to get.” reported Leicester Mercury"

light. Hot. How Leicester should setup to beat Tuchel’s Chelsea

This Saturday the Premier League kicks off again with a mouthwatering clash where Chelsea will visit King Power Stadium. Last season this fixture had huge impact on the campaigns of both clubs; former manager Frank Lampard, for Roman Abramovich owned side, was sacked after losing this fixture 2-1. However, the opponents took the revenge for this loss and that of the FA Cup final when Kasper Schmeichel’s captained side was beaten in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge essentially costing LCFC a Champions League spot.
